Rare George III sterling silver teapot on stand. Made by Peter & Ann Bateman in London in 1795. Teapot: Oval body with diagonal spout, hinged and domed cover with wood finial, and capped and high-looping stained wood handle.
Stand: Oval with four fluted and tapering supports. Both have bright-cut floral rinceaux and paterae borders, and wreaths inset with coronet and letter M (note: one teapot wreath vacant). Fashionable Neoclassicism by the noted Georgian silversmiths. Condition: Nice age-related rubbing and sinking.
